Installing Gutter Guards Are Easier Than Ever

Installing Gutter Guards

Gutter system is used in industrial, residential and public buildings for the organized drainage of water from roofs.Gutter system with a pipe diameter of 150 mm will allow draining rainwater from 117 square meters of the ramp. Significantly reduce the number of pipes on the facades of buildings. The holders of the gutters are mounted at a distance no more than 0,7 m, the pipe holders – not more than 2 m from each other.

Gutter system with a pipe diameter of 100 mm will allow draining rainwater from 52 square meters of the ramp. The gutter holders are mounted at a distance of not more than 0.9 m from each other (the estimated distance is 0.75 m), the pipe holders not more than 3 m apart (for example, a pipe with a length of 5 m requires 3 holders, for a pipe 3 m is enough two.

In the event of a threat of freezing the drainage system, it is recommended to use the heating systems for gutters and pipes. Especially, when you do not know about subjects like how to install gutter guards then it is for sure that you will be having the best option for the same. With a catchment area of less than 30 square meters per gutter, the gutter can be installed with a zero gradient, with a larger catchment area; the slope of the gutters may be up to 5 percent.

The drainage scheme

Installation of drainage system:

Step 1 – Installation of the trough holders

When you do not know how to install gutter guards that means that you will have to know everything from the start. Installation of the gutter begins with the installation of the gutter holders. The total length of the gutter is divided into equal lengths, as noted earlier (but not more than 900 mm).

Step 2 – Marking under the gutter holders of the gutter system

According to the result obtained, mark on the lower crate the place of installation of the gutter holders. As you do not know how to install gutter guards you will have to keep these in mind now.

Step 3 – Bend of the gutter holders

Number the holders from the top mark to the drainage funnel. Having determined the correct slope (up to 5%) mark the bend point on each holder. In this case, the bend of the holder should be lower than the design position by 2.0 – 2.5 cm relative to the slope of the roof.

Step 4 – Mounting of the chute holders

Aligning the bend with the edge of the battens, attach the chute holders with self-drilling zinc-plated screws 4,8×22 with a flat head, 3 pcs. per mount. When using 50×50 bars as a crate for secure attachment of the holders, it is necessary to install a double bar.

Step 5 – Creating a slope of the drain

To create a bias to bend the first and last holder, pull the cord between them. The remaining holders should be bent so that they touch the cord.

Step 6 – Fitting the pipe

Cut a hole 100 mm in diameter at the distance 150 mm from the bottom edge for the branch pipe. Insert the nozzle in place of the hole (figure 31). Insert the leading edge of the nozzle under the outer bend of the chute. Bend the flange of the branch pipe to the back edge of the chute and secure with two 4.2×16 self-tapping screws.

Step 7 – Fitting the gutter plugs

At the ends, install the gutter plugs

Step 8 – Trench installation

Insert the trough into the holders, leading the trailing edge of the trough into the protrusion of the holder

Step 9 – Connection of gutters

At the junction of the gutters, install the connecting element of the gutter. If you do not know how to install gutter guards then this process needs to be perfect in every sense.

Step 10 – Fitting the angular bend

With the help of a corner knee create a transition to the wall of the building. The length of the connecting pipe is determined in place.

Step 11 – Pipe mounting

Mounting the gutter to the wall is carried out with the help of pipe holders. The pipe is measured out, if necessary it is increased at the place of installation of the pipe holder, fixed by a lock.

Step 12 – Installation of drain elbow

The drainage knee completes the drainpipe, serves to drain water from the foundation of the building; should be located at a distance of 300 mm from the blind area of the building.

These are the processes that are there for you to follow if you do not know things like how to install gutter guards. If you can follow properly, then it is for sure that you will be having the best solutions for the same now.
